If you mean the actual roof tent, then they are replaceable either with ones from broken Bongo's see Bongo Spares and other breakers or complete new replacement tents from a variety of shops.

Thanks Geoff
Yes replacement tent I am after and if you know any shops that would be great?

I have tried Bongo spares and they no longer sell the roof only but must include the frame. they will not post due to shipping.

I am in Bournemouth do you know any local Bongo Breakers?

Sorry to be a pain, new to Bongo land. Had a quote from an upholstery but don't want to remortgage the house ;)

There is this one https://www.proudtopop.co.uk/camper/kba ... topop.html
but there are several others who do a variety.

Be careful on terminology, the AFT fibreglass top is referred to as the Shell, the felt material on the inside of the shell is the Lining, the fabric material is the Tent (note the genuine fabric has a plastic external coating so can't leak, rather then a woven material), the tent material has a top and bottom Frame made of aluminum that fixes to the shell. The repair shops normally ask you to remove the fabric from the frame, which can be quite fiddly to remove and later refit, normally the breakers can supply the tent fabric and frame as one, but you need to pop rivet the corners of the frame as removing the rivets allows the material to be folded up and carried/transported much more easily!

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a company that will replace the entire fly netting? I've tried repairing with the usual recommended 'patch' products but tears in mine are too large. As close as to Isle of Wight as possible but will consider anywhere!

Thanks,

Steve

If it's just the mesh that's leaking, you can slide the tent itself out of the frame. It makes it easier to sew and can be done by someone who repairs tents.
An Internet search for 'tent repair isle of wight' brought up a couple of marine sail and canopy repair businesses. If they can't help, they may know who can.

Thank for the info, which is actually very helpful. I once tried to get the unscrew out of the roof tent frame and found it hard going! Hmmm. I know a company who replaces the fly netting but trying to save £350 that's been quoted.

Cool. I need the fly mesh replaced, but luckily the tent is OK.

Have found this lot very close to me:

Any links or advice on removing the tent from the frame?

Cheers
Neil.

There are downloadable instructions on Allans website:

Scroll down to the 'How To' guides and download 'Roof tent removal on a Mazda Bongo'.

Once, I was away from home with my family for a few days, and when we returned, my wife noticed dampness in the kitchen walls, so we hired waterproofing experts from CapeTown-Waterproofing.com as they are also available in the West Coast. Moreover, it was easier for us to carry out the necessary repairs in the home that increase its resale value automatically.

I'm not certain that this company can help with Bongo roof material in the UK, but thankyou for the link. 8)

I too have some tears in my fly netting. I have managed to purchase a 1×1.6 metre of the original nylon netting for £6.50 delivered at
https://www.profabrics.co.uk/products/i ... 6809888963
I am going to attempt to patch mine. Using the new netting. I intend to sew a patch over the hole both on the inside and outside thus creating a window type appearance I hope.
Patience and a cooler day is now required..

Hey Roy. Did you have much luck sewing in the netting you bought? I’ve been looking for some netting which is a close match to the original, would you say it’s a close match? Thanks for any info.

Hello digitalgypsy.
I have yet to try sewing it in but am confident with one person on the inside and one on the outside passing the needle back and forth it will be fine, As for the mesh I purchased it's an exact copy of the original mesh.
