Gas ring ovens ?

Post by g8dhe » Fri Dec 02, 2016 10:48 pm

Has anyone tried the Coleman camping oven or any similar devices, would appreciate any reports on ovens intended to be used on gas rings.

Not seen one of these before Geoff, looks a neat bit of kit if youre into baking.
Handy that it folds flat for storage too.
Good reviews too,so seems a decent buy.

Hi
They must work, Geoff, as the British Army used similar....a friend bought a whole batch of ex-WD ovens like that packed in transport tins
Cheers

Yup just looking around for something to re-heat pies/pasties/frozen meals, but not taking up to much room, there seem to be a couple of designs but the Coleman seems the better one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rvxx-G0HUUg just need to remember to pack oven gloves as well!

Well I went for it in the end, bought on Ebay and even including postage from the States it was considerably cheaper than Amazon!
See a couple of video's here http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/coleman_oven/
20-30 minutes needed to heat a large Cornish Paste out of the fridge on the small burner side of the stove.
