New M1 tested auto bed

Post by Whatwouldgordondo » Sat Sep 14, 2019 3:39 pm

When we got Gordon (the bongo) we were ok getting the rock and roll bed out but when we came to getting it back up we both struggled to get the middle bit up to push it back into a seat, those of you who have one will feel our pain :D

We also didn't like having to push all the cushions together everytime we had the bed out.

We went to the internet to find an alternative and came across Fabworx (link below) who made a fixed base bed that still has storage underneath it but when you pull the bed out it comes out on runners so you can leave stuff on the floor which gives you more space at night but more importantly when you want the bed up as a seat you push the lever and it automatically goes back into a seat with 4 lockable seat recline positions.

Liam Mullen the owner and founder of Fabworx could not have been any nicer to us and custom built the bed as they normally do VW and ours was their first bongo but they also fitted it extremely quickly.

Very happy with our choice and the fact that it came certified as M1 crash tested it's a massive bonus.

Below is a link to photos and a video of the bed and also a link to Fabworx website.
