More useable overhead cupboards

Post by Whatwouldgordondo » Sat Sep 07, 2019 7:04 pm

Not really posted much on the forum but now we have slightly more time on our hands we thought we would share some small changes we made to our original conversion to make it more useable.

When we bought Gordon (the bongo) the overhead cupboards had two tiny doors that were not even big enough to get a tin of soup through and then whatever you put in there it got lost when you drove off and slid everywhere and the switches for the electric blinds were still in their original position inside the lower cupboards.

We removed the overhead cupboards and made the openings as big as we could go and then made new doors to match, we even used the router to make a channel in the underside of the cupboard to recess an LED strip replacing the original light, now the cupboards are awesome and we fitted non slip rubber to the inside of the cupboard and everything stays exactly where you left it, we moved the electric blind switches to the front of the cupboard with 2 port usb socket complete with battery indicator and a new shelf fitted to the end to place phones and tablets when they are being charged.

Overall this small change has made a massive difference.
