Which gas cyclinder?

My side conversion Bongo has a gas locker in the rear right corner. The locker dimensions are approx 21cm wide by 32 high. There is a Truma LPG regulator fitted which has a propane type screw in fiting. Now I'm struggling to find out what cyclinder I require as none of the propane cylinders I've seen are that small. Does anyone else have a similar set up? Bongo was converted in 2014 by Direct Campers so I'm surprised they would have fitted anything too unusual.

As the Camping Gaz 904 seems to be the only size that fits the locker perhaps its just a case of changing the 'pi tail' to a Camping Gaz style?

Thanks Bob, I have just got off the phone with a helpful guy at Direct Campers. He thinks that someone has changed the pig tail in the past. Therefore it looks like I need to change that for a butane pigtail and the use the Camping Gaz adaptor with the tap that you have highlighted.

Not sure how the other little adaptor would work. Current set up is a rubber pig tail with the propane end. Can't get my head around how the second item you linked to would connect between the male propane and the campig gaz adaptor. Think it will require a new pig tail?

Just be aware that you're going to struggle to use butane at this time of year until the van is good and warm inside, as it stops burning properly below about 4 degrees centigrade.
Might the previous owner have used a refillable LPG bottle? The Gaslow R67 cylinder has similar dimensions to a camping gaz 907 canister plus regulator, and can be filled using a 'direct fill' system. I'm considering going over to that system myself as, once it's all installed, it's a fraction of the cost to refill at an LPG pump in a service station.

Hi Markas, I thought about the outside temperatures and merits of propane - but came down on the side of 'if it's too cold to use the stove it's too cold for me to be camping'. Self confessed heat seaker

It's the sub-3 quid cost to refill a 2.7kg canister that I'm tempted by!!
I completely agree that you want to be warm; I took a low wattage fan heater with me to Scotland in August - and used it

Glad you're on track, not saying you will need the second addaptor, just worth knowing it's there, depending on what you actualy finish up with.
