ZIG CF9 PROBLEMS AGAIN

Post by BongoGog » Mon Sep 04, 2017 11:06 pm

Evening all!

It's been a while since I've posted on here, but unfortunately Ive had new problems with the Zig charger which I can't work out. #-o

Zig does not work on hook up - orange ON switch does not light up. It worked fine for 3 weeks touring Spain until we got to Barcelona a few weeks ago where hook up wasn't earthed - don't know how significant that is? Take it trip switch has nothing to do with it as it remained on.

Whilst touring the fridge worked and LBatt charged

Ive looked at manuals and threads on here but haven't seen a similar problem.

All fuses checked and are ok.

Are there any ways to check if the zig is working? There's a 240v plug in at the rear - is it ok to plug that into house mains?

Cheers as always appreciate any help.

Ive a JAL side conversion (2012).

The socket on the rear is for powering a 240v fridge it is NOT a power inlet!

Its much more likely that you have a small consumer unit somewhere and the RCD or MCB's have tripped on it.

Thanks for your suggestion g8hde!

Yes I think you're right (and hope) that's the problem.

I've unscrewed the pole but they are still attached to the DIN - do you know how to remove them without force?

Also is there a way of checking if the poles need replacing - there is no wire etc to check as in a fuse.

RE 240V OK thanks for that! Does that mean I could connect another fridge directly to it?

Please excuse my ignorance. Don't do electrics!

Cheers
