Hook up socket location and cable run.

Post by wwaveydave » Thu Jul 27, 2017 12:10 pm

Hi Everyone, I am a new bongo owner and am starting a rear conversion as I need to retain at least 6 seater functionality.

I've done a bit of searching on site and I can't find an answer to this one.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the location of the commando socket for an electrical hook up.
Once the socket is in place, how do you/would you run the cable through the van to get to the rear (if the socket is not there).

Thanks in advance.

Good post, it's pretty well down to where it's sensible to put it.

Once the panels are off for the conversion have a look for a good spot.

Hope that helps a litle, or try a lead like this for a while:

Rather than chopping a hole in the bodywork I intend to fit mine alongside the trailer socket.
Waterproofed obviously

Just had my EHU socket fitted underneath as part of a rear conversion. It's fitted to the towbar, directly behind the offside rear fog lamp. 'Maypole' produce a socket complete with a cap, ideal for this type of installation; the part number is MP594B.
