I had a few lengths of wood in the garage which I chopped up into little pieces. I don't know the size but they were probably about 2cm by 1cm. That is a guess though! I chopped up little blocks and placed them in. Once they were all in place I put a squirt of adhesive on them (think it was pink grip) and carefully placed the ply on top. Then put weights on and left it to dry. I think with the kitchen on top etc. That it would have been ok like that but I decided to use some pre-existing holes near the step to put a couple of countersunk bolts in so that it can't move anywhere.
When I eventually got the step sorted properly I ended up drilling that and putting a couple of coach bolts through. I tried adhesive before but the constant movement as people got in and out made it come off. Two coach bolts completely sorted that though.

HI,

I'm about to attempt this on the weekend.

Carpets and all ripped out already and good to go.

Plan on making a cardboard template and going from there.

Just a quick query – how did you managed to fit the ply around the seat runners? Did you leave them in the whole time?

I was planning on leaving them in, but I’m thinking this might cause a bit of trouble when fitting the ply.

Any advice would be appreciated, along with any further words of warning or tips.

Thanks in advance.

If 'sotal' doesn't see your question, the info on this list might help you. :) https://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum ... %2BRunners

Hi,

What thickness wood did you use in between the bumps in the floor?

Have you paid for membership?

The Forum is free to use, but access to the Fact Sheets, and other benefits, means joining the Club.

Not very dear.
