Not a cooling problem for a change.....
Rock and roll bed is really hard to put away. We use the seat belts to lift the seat back up to "break" the cantilever, but holding that up and pushing the seat back is tough work especially with a dodgy back.
Ideas?
A) gas strut to help push up the seat back
B) retractable weight reactive castors to lift up the seat front to make it slide more easily. Can't find a source of these on interwebs.
C) a sort of sack barrow type wheeled lever job to lever up the front of the seat a little to make it easier to move.
Sure someone has a fantastic solution somewhere out there!

Ours has a simple strap attached to the inner surface and coming out between the two central back cushions, you just pull this up to lift the two centre sections a few inches after which there isn't a problem.

mine was the same, had the strap still difficult with a bad back until I put a little bit of olive oil on the moving parts lot easier

In mine I put a strap in the middle section to "break" it's back. I also installed metal runners for the bed frame to slide on - makes a world of difference. Dead easy to put up. The runners I used are actually carpet door gripper bars.

That's a good idea! Thanks.
Not sure that Mrs Bongo will like the aesthetics of that but a damn sight easier than installing some kind of retractable castor!

I had a gas strut fitted to our full width ( heavier than 3/4 ) Cannonsforge bed for £50 fitted and it works a treat. He told me that one strut is more than sufficient for this application. Had he used two it would have been impossible to lower the bed to the flat position!
