Seat covers

Post by drumbell » Thu Aug 03, 2017 7:51 pm

Any recommendations for where to get new seat covers? I have just acquired a 1995 Bongo. The original covers are now a bit worn. Many thanks

Any car shop will have generic 'slip over' type covers, just a case of choosing what you like, or a search for 'Coach Trimmers' or 'Car Upholsterers' should fetch up someone who can do a professional re-cover job - at a price.

Otherwise you could try the breakers or 'Breaking Bongos' section on here and just replace the whole seats. This may be the cheapest option.

Hope that helps, and I can recommend someone near me for a re-cover job, but it won't be cheap.

Thanks Bob. I've been having a look online - bit tricky to see if they would fit so will try visiting a shop. Cheap and cheerful is needed at present!

Keep an eye out in Lidl. They have covers in every now and again. Had a set on for over a year now, fit pretty well and look smart. About £15 I think will do the two front seats and headrests but don’t really work for the split rears. As a bonus I found one of the spare headrest covers fits well over front centre armrest if you have one.

I've never heard of pre cut film for a Bongo, but plenty of owners have successfuly used film off a roll.
Thanks!
