Most run 235/45/18's ....as they don't foul, have the best match for the speedo and 98 load rating

Cheers, I've seen some reference to 235/50/18's fitting and I wanted a higher tyre wall than what I have already. If for anything to take up some of the clearance between the arches.

That and 245/45/18's look pretty meaty on the RX8 - and for some reason are the cheapest?

check the load rating is 98 though..... nothing less than 96.... if so... drop to the 235's to get 98's

Both types 235/50 and 245/45 seem to have the same rolling radius, or there-abouts.
Both are 97-101 load rating, just for some reason the 245 is much much cheaper, and loads more choice.

If it fits without rubbing at the front they could be favourite.

Maybe a set of used 245 and see how I go - unless anyone's running them already?

I run the "standard" as Mike stated - 235/45/18 but just doing a quick search on Black Circles (just as a reference) and they have equal amounts of both and the 235's are cheaper?
