Under Cabinet Lighting

Post by Mark Elvin » Wed Jun 04, 2014 6:26 am

I knew when we put in our overhead cabinets that I wanted some kind of slimline lighting that was low current, so the obvious choice was the self adhesive LED stuff (colour changing stuff in this instance) that's widely available. However I didn't like the fact that it looks a little 'unfinished' when simply stuck to the underside of a unit.

Much searching revealed a nice, black anodised extrusion that screws to the surface in question. You then simply stick your LED tape into the extrusion & click on the diffuser strip. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281151575915? ... 1439.l2649

I'm very happy with the results, the lights need wiring in yet to the remote controlled RGB controller, that's a job for the weekend.

Nice find! I've been looking for something exactly like this. I tried hiding my led strip behind a small aluminium extrusion but it cut out too much light. This will be perfect.

Very smart. Have you got any photos showing them in use? :)

Hopefully will have this weekend, in the process of sorting the wiring, but since I'm a bit anal everything takes three times as long as it should to get right.

Very neat. Is there enough space in the strip to lose some thin lighting wiring as well?

Photos as requested.

There's all sorts of pre programmed flashing patterns, a colour wheel on the remote allowing you to chose literally any colour as well as tthe standard 7 colours.
