Wiring question
First off, what size cable should I get to wire up spot lights ,led driving lights etc?
Also ,I have some spot lights with led outer ring,is it possible to run the led by splicing into the side lights near holders or do you know of a better way?
Electrical novice. many thanks in advance

Re: Wiring question
The wire size is determined by the current the lights draw, so if they are say 2x24Watt bulbs then thats 48Watts,
convert to current so 48Watts/12Volts=4 amps,
choose a cable about twice or more that rating say 32/0.20mm, 1mm2, 16.5amp would be fine and fuse it with a 15Amp fuse.

Re: Wiring question
No real reason why not provided the power required isn't massive, the wiring goes to the front of the vehicle so easy to locate it will be Red/Black and a Black to the side lights, and you can probably access quite easily just behind the connector without having to open up a loom as you will have seen here http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 90#p609490

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Re: Wiring question
Might be an idea to check to see if this acceptable for the MOT. I don't mean regarding the wiring but where they are situated. There are all sorts of rules about distances from vehicle sides, height etc.kingbillybongo wrote:Thanks for that, just need to know if I can splice into sidelights so the outer ring of LEDs come on with side lights? if so this would make the job easy!sorted the main spot lights.thanks.

If in doubt, pull the fuse at MOT time so they won't be tested

Re: Wiring question
I'm very very sorry for not replying earlier ,but been side tracked and working away since this post, but I did get them off e bay, still not fitted yet as I've had no time to myself.ive since bought a wiring loom made by ring and just need to find the right place and colour wire to splice into the side light circuit to feed the switch to the relay to do it legally .(not the LEDs ,but the fog/spot light )?the1andonly wrote:come on Billy i'm waiting
