Respray or vinyl wrap?

Post by jamesharrogate » Sat Oct 06, 2018 3:29 pm

Just taken delivery of my first Bongo today. Its in really good condition but I'm thinking of pimping it up a bit by getting it recoloured.

The price of a respray or vinyl wrap appears to be very similar from looking around on the internet so I was wondering if anyone has had a vinyl wrap done and if they would recommend it as an alternative to a normal respray.

My old employer had several cars vynal wrapped and although it looked good to start it was rubbish after 12 month of motorway driving. Personally I'd have all rust treated and a good quality 2 pack paint job done.

A couple of people on FB have had there vans wrapped, but won't do it again, looses it shine and repairs can be a more like the cost of a re-spray!

Might just be me, but I wouldn't buy a vehicle that's got vinyl wrap, Being suspicious I'd think - what little delights are hidden under that?

Aye, but it's your Bongo - make it what you want. Whatever, you'll enjoy having a Bongo. Welcome by the way

Thanks. Only had my Bongo since Saturday but really looking forward to getting out in it. Heading up to Glencoe at the end of the month for it's first trip - looking at the weather I don't think I'll be needing to run the fridge!

Respray for a lot of reasons, mainly during prepwork you'll have an opportunity to see and address all the rust!
