Off to Europe at last

Post by Oldboybob » Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:48 pm

Driving down to Europe later for our first ever European trip, prayed to the Great head gasket god [-o< ( er.......and got RAC cover  ). Heading down to Dover soon and will post pics on our return. So if you see a black AFT with two nutters grinning from ear to ear and flashing their lights frantically then give us a wave :D :D :D

Have a good time and don't forget to fill up off the motorways, up to 10cents a litre cheaper.

Mate your gonna have a scream, go to luxembourg if you can its beautiful and deisels only 99cents a litre :D, take a lill can of K seal with you just incase the Headgasket gods frown on you, mine started a slight h/g leak in southern germany so i slopped in some K seal and she got me around europe and back to good old blighty, the campsites are all great and theres soooooo many of them, just turn up and they'll find room for ya, deisels more expensive on the motorways and if you want some scenery stay off the toll roads and use the route nationals ( Main roads before toll roads were built )

You'll need warning triangle and a hi viz for everyone in your vehicle, oh and very important is that nothing opens on a sunday its a family day in europe so fill up with fuel / food on saturday

Finally take plenty of pics and video's

We done France, Belgium, Germany (inc lap of Nurberg ring  ) down through Germany's rhine valley / Black forest into switzerland, over the alps into italy, then accross to Monnaco inc lap of the GP curcuit, over to Nice before heading north accross the millau bridge and back up to good ole Blighty, 12 days 11 nights just me and Dan for our 40th birthdays, no wives or kids 8)

In the Alps between Switzerland and Italy end of may 2010 8)
