Who's planning what?

Post by janie » Mon Jan 23, 2017 11:28 am

As the title suggests - I was wondering who's got what trips already planned for this year.

Staying at White House camp site. :D

April: Tewkesbury Abbey for 4 nights

May: Welsh Bongo Bash

June: North Devon (t.b.a.) for 4 nights

Thinking about planning 3 week trip to South of France for September. No doubt there will be several trips as yet unplanned between now and then, so a busy year.

Lovely looking site Bob!

We've only really got one trip planned - France for nearly a month (July and August).....can't wait, but it's not soon enough. Can't make it to Southern Softies or Bongo Bash this year so will have to work in some more weekends along the way (we live in Cornwall, so it shouldn't be that tricky)!

Two weeks in the west of France for us (and eldest son). First time abroad in Bunty so really looking forward to it. I am sure I will have a few questions to ask before we go. One springs to mind straight away - what do I have to do regarding car insurance? I have taken vehicles abroad many time before but they have always been company cars.

First thing is look at your policy documents. Cover for Europe varies between companies, then contact them if there's any room for doubt over cover.

Much better to get clarification before there's a problem.

My insurance covers me for Europe as well - I have to call them and let them know the dates I'm there in advance though.

European breakdown is a must - I get mine with my insurance - camping and Caravanning club (covers both UK and Europe).

Where in the West of France and when are you going?

Thanks for the advice (as always). I already have European breakdown cover (through my Nationwide current account). I don't work for Nationwide but I get 3% interest on my account, free travel insurance and free breakdown cover in the UK and Europe , all for £10 per month.
I am not sure where we will be going yet as that will be organised by my wife who has a great love of France. I will just do the driving and make sure everything is in place before we leave.
A bit off topic I know but we will be going to Venice soon on the Orient Express to celebrate our pearl wedding anniversary. It looks fantastic - can't wait for both holidays :D
