Jilly, the showers are red hot except in the disabled ones, which are warm but not hot. There is a small electric heater up near the ceiling in the showers but they are a waste of time. We couldn't find any heating at all in the disabled.

They dropped the words "In Vests" from the title too. It was just after the last Tory election win. Government cuts have hit the northerners hard and I don't think they can afford underwear anymore. Now it's in August they can call it "Tough Northerners in Commando". [-X

We're good Haydn. We will be there this weekend so we'll try to say hello if you are about when we are.

Southern Softies!
Enough of the useless information Ian! [-X

What we want to hear is reports on the quality of the local drinking dens and such like...

We'll be along just on the Saturday, as due to a change of plans we won't be able to stay over. I've got a few steel wheels (with tyres) which are ideal as spares, as well as a pair of nearly new tyres which are for sale, so if anyone is interested, come and say hello.

definitely up for the Tor at some stage, Baz.

Maybe before or after the walk round town on Saturday, or Sunday after Edna's memorial.

I may join in the Tor walk too. :D

Just so you know you can walk to the Abbey 14 mins , then catch a bus at the Abbey to the Tor, journey 4mins, and from that side of the Tor it takes about 10 - 15 mins to get to the top. It will take a lot longer from the bottom of the Tor if you go from the village apparently. The bus takes you some of the way up according to Google info.

Just a thought for those of us who may not be able to face and all round (according to Google info) approx 2hr walk with some of it up hill of course.

Sorry to be a party pooper but can I just give a warning to anyone thinking of driving up to the Tor and parking, DON'T!!!
Trust me from being a local it is a crime haven for vehicles being broken into. The Fagins apprentices just smash a window and grab anything on show. This goes for the lanes around the Tor.
My advice is to either walk up if your feeling fit or catch the Tor bus from the car park in Magdalene Street.
I can, I do, I did.

Hi Dave Pleased to hear you are feeling a lot better now.

Never been to Glastonbury before but what an interesting place. Must have more interesting people per square yard than anywhere else in this country!!
The natives were very friendly. Will definitely go back there. My fourteen year old complained about some smoke he accidentally breathed in whilst in the town. I think it was only joss sticks but he said it made him feel funny!!

Great Southern Softies meet up. Nice to catch up with old friends and to make some new ones too. Thanks to those of you who helped make it a fun weekend :D
Great time was had by all.....at least all the ones I know about lol.
Met a lovely couple who found me when I was lost. We ended up doing a detour of the organised walk and went on up to the Tor. Loved that and loved Glastonbury. Will defo go back there again one day.
