Tackeroo 5 on Sunday 28th April - Day meet and/or Camp

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

Tackeroo 5 on Sunday 28th April - Day meet and/or Camp

Post by dobby » Sun Jan 20, 2013 1:11 pm

Time marchs on and its time for Tackeroo 5

Tackeroo is located on Cannock Chase in the heart of sunny Staffordshire and is a minimum facility camp site that offers great access for the Chase (Mountain Biking, Pony Trekking, Walking and military history etc). Details of Tackeroo can be found here:

http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/recr ... aravanSite

The site is very handy for the M6 and M6 Toll etc.

Last years post is here:

http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... t=tackeroo

Weather permitting, its a great spot for a picnic and for the kids but don't there are no toilets, showers or shops on the site.

Last years prices were £3 for car parking on the day and £10 for camping. The forest ranger comes round and collects money on the day, so there's no booking, deposits or any paperwork to worry about. I normally let the ranger know we will be there on sunday but its really just a case of turning up

Let us know if you can make, also if you are thinking of buying a bongo then please come along a meet a few bongo owners.

The 21st clashes with the end of the southern softies :( but it might be a nice stop off on the way back?)

Let us know if you can make it and I'll start the list :D

Count us in for this seeing as we had to miss last year's.

We'll be going to the trekking centre on the Saturday and camping over at Tackeroo. Then no doubt some mountain biking on the Sunday. We might even persuade Jr to come over for the day from uni, in which case we'll bring his bike and collect him from Cannock station :D

I understand the weather last year was poor but the previous three years were great. Pics from the three we went to here:

Can we still come? We no longer have the bongo though and we do have the hoard of kids with us that weekend.

We would probably go the Friday and Saturday night as we pick kids up from Bristol Friday :)

Last Year was fab!

One day I'll get to join you for this!!!!!! I'll be at Southern Softies (hopefully) and Tackeroo is NOT on my way home!

Still I'm intending to try Tackeroo on my way back from Scotland in May. Bank Holiday weekend - great!
