This looks like a fantastic weekend and I'm booking it with a few mates end of this week.
They want a hefty £30 deposit, but they quoted me £52 for friday to monday, bongo, awning, hook up and being as it would cost £15 to get a day ticket to the event, I reckon it's not a bad deal and they do tracked vehicle rides ..I can't bloomin wait lol
If anyone fancies it you can book direct with the site http://www.conwytouringpark.co.uk/firew ... -park.html
or if you can get £30 to me I'll book you in with us

Thanks for the heads up Deb. Our lot are still at school then, grrrr. It used to be the start of our summer hols (Wakes Weeks) until the government got involved and changed every ting.

Hmmm, I'm liking the sound of this. I'll consult with the rest of the team this evening

Nice one do you want to book with us? I'm waiting for booking forms to arrive as their website is having tech probs and you can't download them !
Hopefully a pal of ours is bringing his Highland Raiders truck down from Manchester, Ron went with him down to Kent last year to the Big Beltring War and Peace bash
I'll be bringing warpaint so watch out

That would be cool, we can only do 3rd & 4th due to school, though.
I did make a web-enquiry for the price but got no reply.
Let me know how you get on

bringing this up as it's 4 weeks away, not sure if people can book with us now but there's day passes
also had an email about a steam weekend there next weekend which I may nip over and take a look at http://www.conwy-steam-rally.co.uk/ might even stop over if the bongo's sorted as it's free entry if you're staying there the pricing thing is a bit confusing for the site tho

I know this is smallest bongo meet ever but I think there maybe one or two pics due to the few peeps who are going
I've packed the glowsticks, cous cous, balloons and camo paint can't wait
If anyone's heading to North Wales this weekend they do day passes too

Re: july 2, 3, 4 ,military manoeuvres, Conwy, North Wales
Well we’re back from another fantastic weekend, Debbie really should seek employment with the North Wales Tourist Board
This almost certainly was the smallest Bongo meet in the short history of Bongo meets, with only two Bongos for a while until we stumbled across a third – Imagine my surprise whilst walking around the site to be passed by a kübelwagen only to have the driver, in full American uniform, shout “Oi, Muz!”, stop the car and have a natter for a few minutes!
We arrived on Friday evening after a fun journey on the M56 and A55, presumably some folks do this journey every week
That brazier was great for warming up the cool evening
http://www.bored.com
Time to waft the brazier back into life
Awwwwww
We are NOT amused
Saturday morning and time to put that brazier to good use again
The campsite is huge and in a great setting, with lovely views over the river Conwy
Lots of military trucks on display....
....”three double cheeseburgers, a 12” pepperoni pizza and two extra large donner kebabs”
Most of the owners were happy to show people their pride & joy
Authentic ex-WD Fiamma levelling blocks
Even the bike exhibits were available to small kids and big kids alike
Then onto the vehicle displays....
Getting around the huge site was easy, just grab a ride on an army truck!
....which was fine for threequarters of Team Muz
Then onto the battle re-enactment, where we met up again with herr Bongoist kübelwagen driver....
....The Hun
The Germans
The Americans
Let battle commence
As in all the war films, the Americans won
Alvis Stalwart, coolest off-roader of them all. Well, maybe a close second behind the Hägglunds BV206
Time to retire to camp....
....and incinerate some more food
Thanks again to Debbie for organizing, a top weekend enjoyed by all
