Hi Betty, Try and spend a day or two on the Lizard Peninsula ......... its worth it. Kynance Cove is beautiful especially at sunset. The villages of Coverack and Cadgwith http://www.cadgwith.com/ are still working fishing communities and lovely villages as well and close by Roskillys Ice Cream Farm http://www.roskillys.co.uk is well worth a visit and there are a myriad of other coves and villages as well. If you do get to the Lizard then dont leave without visiting the Helford Passage especially Helford village itself, its like stepping back in time a little. Frenchmans Creek (Du Maurier lived there) is stunning and the best pasties in the whole wide world are sold at Gear Farm and they have their own campsite as well. These are my favourites in the area and if you do get to the Lizard then you will find your own ....... I visited the area 12 years ago on holiday and literally never went home........still here!!

Porthcurno Beach, absolutely beautiful at certain times you can see basking sharks there, also visit minack as mentioned which is directly above Porthcurno beach.

St Ives is nice aswell, so many nice places to visit. Lands End is nothing special. I always stay at newquay and rarely venture out no more happy bodyboarding at fistral and lusty glaze beach, but there are so many places in cornwall that are amazing.

I don't think she did!!! She lived at Ferryside at Bodinnick (opposite Fowey) before moving to Menabilly, which is also near Fowey. Incidentally, it's the Du Maurier Festival in Fowey from 9th-20th May this year (it's annual, but those are the 2012 dates).

Best way to see Frenchman's Creek is to get a pleasure boat from Falmouth (when the tide is high, otherwise you can't get up there). Of course you can always walk to it, and I agree that the Helford River is lovely. Trebah Garden is a cracker with a beach at the bottom.

There's so much to see in Cornwall that you need to devote a fortnight a year for the rest of your life to enjoy it all. Would reiterate what everyone above has said, especially about Roskilly's Ice Cream and also including the bit about Land's End! The best way to enjoy Land's End would be to park at Sennen (for example) and walk the coast path to Land's End and back, or if you can organise yourself with bus times, walk round to Porthcurno and get the bus back to Sennen (route 504).

If you are based down West, there are a decent number of standing stones, stone circles and the like to be explored.
