Hi Bongoliers Request for assistance on the Bongo Grapevine

Post by TrickeyDicky » Wed Mar 23, 2011 9:05 pm

Hi,

Our trusty and rusty Bongo has finally popped its Head gasket and I was wondering if anyone knew of a low mileage engine being available? I realise this may be a long shot but I thought it might be worth asking.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that you Bongo has blown its top, the best place for advise is Allans of Plymouth, he's the Bongo expert & will advise you wether repair or replace is the best option. If there is a spare engine in the area Allan will probably know about it.

Yep, Allan's a good starting point, there is also Oreston Motors near the Morrisons Store at Plymstock, they scrap Bongos. Further afield you have Topsham Motors near Exeter. Then theres Mark at Pit Stop in Bodmin, I hope you find what your looking for

Cheers Janner Vanner and Tony C,

Will try them tomorrow. I'm a bit out of touch with parts as, ironically, the old girl has been so reliable (17 this year). She's too good to scrap but too old to warrant a new head.

Lets hope the Bongo Gods look down favourably
