8) Nice one. Is yours a 2 litre Bongo? I didn't mean that a 2 litre Bongo won't pull a caravan, but the torque (what I call the 'pulling power') is differerent to a 2.5 so it's something to think about... the 2.5 has more torque at lower revs. :)
2l petrol Bongo: Max.torque: 16.5 kg*m (161.81 N*m) / 4000 rpm
2.5l diesel Bongo: Max.torque: 30.kg*m (294.20 N*m) / 2000 rpm.
Allan's closed. We recommend PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services in Plymouth.

The important bit here is that the diesel has almost twice the torque at half the revs.

And torque is what is REALLY important in everyday life not BHP.

BHP is how fast you hit the wall - Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

'Tis true. The diesel Bongo accelerates very nicely, with little apparent penalty when loaded, from about 45 mph upwards, in top gear. It holds its own very nicely with mainstream traffic as a result, and driving stress is greatly reduced, as a result.
