CARDINHAM BARBECUE - Saturday 19TH JULY *DON'T DELETE*
Okay Guys here we go. Its on. CARDINHAM BARBECUE - Saturday 19TH JULY
Anybody who has been to Cardninham Woods will know that it is a gorgeous venue for all the family. Ideal for walking (dogs are welcome of course), cycling, exploring, playing games on the green, paddling in the river or just dossing on the green next to the River Fowey for a chat with fellow Bongoliers. However we need to get there relatively early (10am) if we want to park as a group. When you drive into the car park go right to the end and park up above the green. Parking fees are £2.00 all day (or is it £3.00?). Bring three pound coins!
The woods are owned by the National Trust and there are toilets and a Cafe on site. Teas, coffees, cakes, soft drinks and ice creams can be obtained from the Cafe. Even with these facilities this does not feel like a commercialised site. You really are out in the Wild here! There aren't really any Elk or Bears but it feels like there should be!
Games
We'll put on some fun games for the kids (adults welcome but don't get bullish!!).
Barbecue Facilities
The green has fixed barbecues in place. So you can bring your own briquettes. Alternatively bring portable barbeues and/or gas stoves. Bring your own beef burgers and sausages!! And beer and wine if the fancy takes you.
So to summarise:
Venue - Cardinham Woods near Bodmin Saturday 19th July.
Meet at - 10 am on.
Start barbecue at 12.00 ish
If you require any more info, then pm nme or post it here.
Thanks and we look forward to your company.

We are down your way that weekend taking my Mum to see her brother in Tywardreath and having a service done at Allan's, so might drop in and say hello.

Hi Tim and Jill, lovely to meet you again at Stourport, will try and make it to this one, if I can fit it around my students itinerary. Thanks Jill for sorting out tee-shirt while still in your pyjamas.

Would love to come, may call in depending on traffic , it's the Lanhydrock's Music Festival so we'll be heading across the road to that in the afternoon .

I guess you'll be there before & long gone after but bear in mind the Lanhydrock Festival is on the same day & getting to & fro from the A38/A30 junction could prove troublesome.
Re: CARDINHAM BARBECUE - Saturday 19TH JULY
Should be alright but thanks Longo for your concern.
Can't see that the morning start time will be an issue and most people set out for the Landhydrock do late afternoon.
From experience the Landyhrock Do has a steady stream of traffic going to it all day which i beelive does not cause a problem. Its when everybody leaves at midnight that any congestion might occur.
We'll be gone before then.
What i say is don't let the Landhydrock Do put any one off.
Thanks
Tim

Apologies - Didn't intend to sound negative!
Re: CARDINHAM BARBECUE - Saturday 19TH JULY
No Longo you are quite right to point out the coinciding 'important do'. I don't want our traffic interfering with the Lanhydrock Do either!

Yo Brills news Simon.
I've never seen so many Bongos around the St Austell area before.
It would be really good if any of you newbies joined us on the day.
