Help!

Post by 8bitboy » Wed Oct 12, 2016 7:57 pm

Hi ,I have a Mazda bongo friendee 2.5 diesel manual . I was driving about 5 mins from cold. Suddenly the temp gauge shot up above 1/2 and the to 3/4 . I stopped the van straight away waited 30mins and the slowly took the van home whereby it didn't shoot up during the rest of the journey (about 1 mile). Upon opening the bonnet immediately after stopping I found water by the radiator cap? Frothing and resting on the what is the radiator I presume. I've not driven it since, I can post some pictures. Can anyone help? I'd love to get my new (old) beloved bongo back on the road ready for next year and I'd like to find someone local to Kent to fix it.

Could be the seal between the plastic top of the radiator and the metal frame, these go on a regular basis at the age of most Bongo's, quite easy change and replacement radiators are easily available. Try AVA leisure http://mazdabongo.com/catalog/mazda-bon ... ll-models/ They also do a genuine mazda version at £250 if you prefer!
