Central locking on sliding door not working

Post by TORPUSCAT » Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:40 pm

The central locking on my Bongo works fine for the front and rear doors but will not lock/unlock the sliding side door.

When the doors open there is a part with 5 pins in it which I assume makes the connection. 2 of the pins are permanently pressed in which I thought was the issue but having unscrewed and looked behind, there are wires connected to the 3 other pins.

Anybody with this issue previously.

TIA.

The two pins that are pulled back are the locking solenoid, you don't want the door to lock whilst it hasn't fully closed, they don't make contact until the door is in.
Try cleaning the contacts with a kitchen scouring pad, plastic type not metal, as the contacts do get dirty.
After that it might be the little motorised door lock, which has been known to fail inside the door details on repair here or replace it;

I've had this too - I clicked lock on the key fob before the sliding door had fully closed and now the passenger side makes a noise when I try to lock and unlock. The boot and driver door still works; the passenger and sliding door don't. Have I broken it? TORPUSCAT any joy with a fix for yours?

Thanks for the advice Geoff. I’ve cleaned the connections but still no joy.

Before I go unscrewing everything in sight on the door, where is the motor located? Do I have to remove the door panel?

Thanks

Yes its behind the door panel, push the panel around the handle, fish out the clip on the back of the handle to release it - keep it safe! then into the door mech details here http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html
