Fan vents not blowing

Post by Jamesbrowb » Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:14 am

Hello
Just got our bongo and love it. But as it’s new to us not super familiar with it all yet. One issue is that some of the fan vents don’t blow air. The fan is working and a half decent air flow comes from the windscreen vents and rear top vents but nothing from the cab or feet vents - even though the fan is on and appears to vary speeds. Anyone had this issue and able to advise what I should start to look at at. My auto electrical /mechanical skills are very rusty so likely to be a garage job but would be good to know where to start.
Thanks
Jb

Welcome. From what I've read its worth checking than control connector rods in drivers footwell have not become disconnected. But others who know more than me will hopefully comment soon.

There are two types of control and two points on each that control see the images below;

Thanks for replies. I’ll check those controls in footwell. Presumably they should be moving when controls are altered

Thanks again folks for comments. Checked those controls in the footwell And moved them by hand. And this seems to have freed them up so seems be working now. I expected might become stuck again. Anyone know if this is a common problem and if removing the unit and servicing/lubricating is possible/worthwhile?

Before stripping things down it might be worth trying some aerosol silicon lube on what you can access. :wink:
