Haydn Engine Temp TM2 not reading temperature?

Post by Donnie » Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:12 pm

Morning all, been getting on with several jobs on the bongo having had a few days off and one of these was to relocate the haydn TM2 engine temperature monitor so I cut the double wires within a foot of the monitor, relocated it in a better location and reconnected the wiring (the right way round) with male/female bullet connectors.

Now when ignition is on the readout sits at 001 :-(

Anyone got any ideas?

Ahhhhh, I may have answered my own question by finding http://enginewatchdog.com/tm2_installation.html

I made the assumption that each wire was a single core essentially, whereas it's a wire within a wire. Just bared it all off and checked with temporary twists and it reads correctly now! Silly me!

Not a good idea to cut the sensor wire ! It’s a shielded wire and this should be maintained after rejoining .
