RPMs highway driving

Post by BongoNC » Mon Nov 16, 2020 12:30 am

Just curious what other Bongo drivers see for RPMs on highway cruising. Are there other manual transmission Bongos out there as well? My 5MT running at 105kph is turning right at 3k RPMs. The needle on the tach might be slightly to the left of the 3k mark on a flat road. What's your happy speed on the open road?

Manual transmissions are lower geared than the auto box equivalent, so on 2.5 engined diesels the auto runs lower revs at a set road speed than the manual.
I had a manual and my wife had the auto🧐
Don't know about the petrols.

For a bit of reference my diesel turns at 2300 rpm at a genuine 60mph.

2300rpm at 60mph is about what I get as well.
