Replacing fog lamps

Post by Vrichings » Tue Jun 30, 2020 12:32 pm

Hello there,
My fog lamps are knackered and the bracket on one has rusted away. Gaffa tape is currently holding it in! I have a garage that can fit new ones and fabricate me brackets, but I was wondering if the ones below would be the right ones to get. They look the same shape as the current ones, as mine are in the bumper, but they are not the asymmetric ones that seem to be the later models. Mine is a 1995/6, 2.5l diesel.
Any advice or recommendations welcomed. TIA

If the garage is making brackets I'd just ask if they will supply the lights, too.

That way they're bound to fit.

Surely it would be cheaper to simply buy a pair of originals as they'll have the brackets and all the proper electrical connections?

Thank you for you replies.
The garage asked me if I can source them, as I tend to do that. Last time they ordered the right exhaust it didn’t fit! I think that their suppliers can’t cope with imports...

The original ones don’t look the right shape for the bumper holes, the ones in there are aftermarket, so I thought it would be better to get similar ones

In that case the e bay ones should be fine, but hand them to the garage before they make the brackets.
