sediment trap emptied - not starting

Post by Safraneman » Fri Jun 26, 2020 9:10 pm

N reg D AFT sediment warning light came on as engine struggled to start. Due to low fuel.
Had moved the SORNed vehicle a few yards in the last 3 months to access my lock up a few hours earlier
having let it warm up before switching off
Drained filter
tried to restart - reversed 5 yards backwards down hill
Refilled filter
put 20 L fuel in tank
very lumpy running - no power
flattend battery
jump "started" VERY lumpy running
tried to "crack" an injector - SUCH LIMITED access with a 6 inch spanner - no chance
any suggestions on what to do next much appreciated
vehicle facing uphill
New filter fitted a 1000 miles ago - during engine rebuild at Rishworth
of course this happens late on a Friday afternoon and I need to move this automatic vehicle back up a 10% gradient
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Working 7 to 5 tomorrow
Cheers

well begorra - 4 weary hours later my Bongo is running again
Thanks to the forum for helping me keep my hair on
the last four hours made some interesting reading the 1,600 notes on sediment warning light
dont let your tank get too low during lock down!
i am still sorned in scotland
and until i can sell my third vehicle
then we can get aubergine running again - on the road where she belongs
thank you for all your assidiously annotated forum renderings
they helped me maintain my belief
that there is a way!
counted to 500 while it lumped away on jump leads
probably knackered the starter
but round the back of where i live only a Bongo or an old style mini can get through the gate!
now running sweet as a nut -
oh i do wish that the open road beckoned
cooped up like this is no fun
but a canoe buddy did not recover from Covid
he was only 46
stay safe
Cheers Andy at 9pm +

Condolences from us.

Just wish the morons would take on board it is serious.

Glad Bongy is running, and let's hope you can give it an Italian Tune Up very soon.

Although campsites and pubs open next w/e I'm sitting back waiting to see how things go. Don't want to be part of a mad rush, but very keen to get out Bongoing.
