Removing air vent
Is anyone able to help me by giving me some sort of idea as to how to replace an air vent please? It’s one of the vents in the middle of the dash. I have a replacement, I just need to fit it.

Re: Removing air vent
Can you not work out from the replacement how its held in place ?
Someone else suggested that the sides need to be pushed inwards as I understood it, so I presume there are pins of some sort (plastic extrusions?) that pop into holes in the dashboard itself ?

I’ve removed the vent, and broke it in doing so. I don’t mind that but I don’t want to replacement to got he same way. Unfortunately, having spent 10 minutes on getting the replacement in I’m not convinced it is going to work.

I did something similar with a couple of cable ties, you just need to be careful that you don't put too much force on any one part of hte vent or it will snap

If I remember correctly, theres a round locating lug on one side. You need to put the vent into the housing on an angle, try and line up the lug and then pull back the other side until it clicks onto place. A bit fiddly, but easier to do than describe !!!!
