Depends which one you have.
Best ones self test, otherwise do you have the instructions?

If it’s one of ours (Haydn Alarms) then a small red led should flash and a beep should be heard when you switch on the ignition. That proves the alarm is working and your coolant level is good. To SUPER prove it’s working siphon coolant out of the tank until the level drops below the sensor screw (use the wife’s chicken baster). You need ignition on to do this.

Re: low coolant
Hi all. I was checking my Haydn alarm and touched the relay/alarm under the steering wheel and and a cylindrical piece of plastic came away from the relay - my fault as pulled it out from against the lower dash when jammed. Now no alarm. Is the part replaceable at all. 1st bongo so apologies for the lack of knowledge. Incidentally I should have cleaned the screw as per thread instead of attacking the source of the noise. Lesson learned.

Try contacting Jo at www.coolantalarm.co.uk. If you are in luck she may have some bits from customer returns on a shelf somewehere.

Hi, are you sure it’s a Haydn alarm ? Assuming it is and the bit you pulled away is a small black cylinder about 1 inch diameter and 1.5 inch long then it is a very old one...all I can suggest is you strip the alarm out and send it to us for repair FOC....if it’s irreparable we can do a deal on a new replacement.....whatever the outcome I suggest you get a working one ASAP.

Hi Much appreciated. The Bongo is off road for the season but will retrieve the old relay and contact via your web site.
