Bulb wattage (cup holder console)

Post by Gripped » Fri Dec 20, 2019 2:03 pm

Hi

Just wondering what wattage the bulb is which illuminates the cup holder on our V6. The bulb is the W5W / T10 style, but these seem to come in 5Watt and lower wattage e.g. 3W (i.e. W3W) and possibly others . Anyone know which is the correct wattage ?

I think the 5watt might be too bright / hot. So thinking of a lower wattage or LED replacement.

Cheers

I'm just keen to know what the standard bulb wattage is.

Thanks in advance

Thanks - it shows that it could be a 3 watt like the dash bulbs, so hopefully someone will confirm.

They vary position to position, best bet is extract the blown lamp and see what style and wattage it says on the case.
The one behind the gear selector for instance is 1.5 Watt rating. The ones in the dashboard vary and have I think I recall it being three different sizes.

Hi thanks. I don't have the old bulb otherwise that's what i would have done.

Hopefully someone has a bulb with the wattage on it.

Thanks for the input. I've ordered a 1.7 watt conventional T10 bulb and will see how that goes.

Currently using an LED T10, but it's a bit bright for the cupholder and illuminates the whole cab !

Just an update. The 1.7watt T10 bulb works well and is just the right brightness.
