Hello folks,
My 2.5ltr diesel has been having issues starting the last few weeks. Sometimes it'll go first time..other times it won't start at all or takes a lot of persuasion.
This past Thursday it just seemed to give up. It appears to be something to do with the part in the photo I've linked.
I'd appreciate it if someone could let me know what part it is and if anyone has had a similar issue with starting based on the part what they did to rectify. When turning the key it goes into the box slightly but not as far as it should.
I have all normal dash lights come up as usual etc. Turn the key and just get a click noise and no engine start.

I have a couple videos of it too but not sure how to upload them.
Thanks

Possibly the solenoid contacts.
Cheap off e bay and fairly simple to fit.

Re: Intermittent Starter
Coincidentally I have been attempting to repair my starter motor solenoid contacts too. Due to intermittent starting.
But I have failed early on - as I cant seem to shift (loosen) any of the the 3 x 14mm bolts that hold the SM in place - so as to remove it.
I have followed the BF factsheet and the previous threads on here. Have removed the air ducting after the air filter to access the SM but can't get enough leverage using a 10" long socket wrench to shift the bolts. Even the bolt that is most accessible is refusing to shift, the other two as well.
Any tips (on loosening these bolts) from those who have done this task before?
Thanks in Advance.
