What are these brackets on the roof?

Post by BongoSanj » Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:06 pm

I've just bought a Ford Freda. And I haven't figured out what these brackets are? The previous owner didn't know either.

There is a small TV/DVD unit inside but the tv aerial input doesn't work, (the DVD does apparently, not tested it). If its for a TV aerial I don't know why there are 2.

They're only on the driver's side.
I'm trying to avoid removing the trim to trace the wires.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Because it can be rather mountainous in Japan its normal to fit diversity aerials for TV/Radio so that which ever aerial or combination of aerials give the best signal is fed to the receiver. Hence its quite common to see several often 4 mounts around the vehicle. Totally useless in this country so you can remove them and the associated wiring, which is usually excessive ion length :-)

Ah! Right. Thanks for that. Will probably remove them.

Cheers
