Heater air intake lever

Post by Gripped » Wed Jun 19, 2019 9:51 am

On our new Bongo, there is a lever on the air intake system under the bonnet which feeds the heater fan.

Does anyone know what this lever does? It seems to have 2 positions, which I assume is designed to divert air somewhere.

Any ideas?

Think i saw a pic recently on Facebook of a Bongo that had a humped extra bit on top of the normal under bonnet airscoop, with a lever that allowed the pulling in of air from ?exhaust manifold surrounds. The explanation given (by I think though i may be wrong ex BF award winner and now resident of Facebook Simon Jones) was that this was a North Japan mod for coping with extreme cold weather. Is yours like that?

Brilliant. That explains why we got engine fumes smell when the fan is on. I need to select "summer" setting obviously.

Thanks all !!
