Transmission judder
I have a 2002 bongo with 85,000miles on it. Standard 2.5d. I’ve just replaced the transmission fluid pipes on my Bongo after a fluid leak at a garage here in Brecon. As a result of the leak I had no gear engagement at all but did manage to crawl 150m to park up before arranging recovery. After being fixed, when I’m travelling at a very slow speed turning left or right, or starting off (not all the time), first gear does not engage immediately and I get a judder when it does. Any ideas anybody or do you know of a good autobox specialist within 2-3 hours from Brecon?? It’s going in for another check with my regular mechanic shortly (not a transmission specialist). Thanks...David

Re: Transmission judder
Assuming your oil level is correct, you may have damaged your forward clutch by driving it slipping. It only takes a few yards to total a slipping auto clutch. I take it the judder isn't a LSD judder from the rear axle when cornering?

Re: Transmission judder
Sorry I have been away working Alacrity. I did remedy the problem, the gearbox needed another litre of transmission fluid but now the limp mode light comes on about 30 min into a drive and I lose the turbo power. The limp mode was also coming on before the gearbox problem. I thought fixing the corroded transmission pipes would have solved the problem. Obviously not! For some reason my local diagnostic garage (reputable) are saying they are unable to get any fault codes from the ECU. Any ideas??
Re: Transmission judder
Read my post about slipping gears, it started with a judder and finished with a £1572 refurb. Best get it into a autobox specialist. Where are you?
