Recommend rear diff oil from eurocarparts

Post by ognob » Tue Jun 11, 2019 9:53 pm

Good evening all

Going to treat the bongo to an diff oil change

Can someone kindly point me to the exact type I need, ideally a part number

It’s a 2005 2.0 petrol, I suspect it’s never been changed

Is a flush a good idea or do I risk anything doing so?

Waiting for a decent discount code, then I can swoop

Thanks one and all

Hello.
A good tip I heard when changing the oil in the rear diff is to check the refilling nut can be undone before draining, as otherwise you could be left with no way of refilling after draining..

Hi Roy

Yes, I can imagine a lot of people get caught out like that.

Reminds when of when I would go 4x4ing by my self

I’d always stay in 2wd until I got stuck, then I’d go in 4wd and get the hell out of there

My mates would go in 4x4 mode, get stuck then ring me up!

Firstly Euro Car Parts own brand oild oils (Triple QX) are crap. Buy as good a quality oil as you can afford i.e. a good named brand.

Does yours have a limited slip differential (LSD) the oil is different & shouldn't be interchanged.

The chart posted in your 1st reply has all the information you need.
