Hi
I have read lots of similar complaints on here but not conclusive answer that fits mine. This is a 2002 flyby wire vehicle.
Vehicle had a reconditioned head fitted at a bongo specialist and after 160 miles the glow plug started to flash. Once the engine has stood and cooled the light is out but starts to flash after about 3 miles. However there are occasions when it will go for 30 ish miles before fault starts.
Once the light is flashing the EGR system stops working (poor performance, increased fuel consumption).
Returned bongo to the garage and EGR fault identified and solenoid under passenger seat replaced.
Fault still happening, so all additional solenoid tested and showing correct readings.
The suggestion is that the injector pump is the fault. Prior to committing to this expense has anyone had the same problem and is the injector pump going to sort?
Many thanks Alistair
EGR Valve / injector pump?

Re: EGR Valve / injector pump?
They should be able to read the error code to help identify the problem, provided its flashing at the time, it should, most likely, have an OBDII connector just to the left of the steering wheel given its a 2002 fly-by-wire as well.

Get the egr valve position switch/sensor tested or checked.
Re: EGR Valve / injector pump?
Thanks both. They do have a code reader which is plugged in next to the passage door. The only error code when flashing is the solenoid under the passenger seat. once reset it runs fine for 3 to 4 miles then back to the same fault. its a bit like the song "there's a hole in my bucket!"

update
injector pump was swapped from a similar model and fault changed to ERG valve. Both were replaced and the vehicle was ok for approx 120 mile then light back on. once stood (an hour or more) light comes on every 3 - 6 miles.
Back to the garage and the original fault is showing on the code reader (solenoid passenger side which has been replaced twice). New engine bay temperature sensor fitted. vehicle ok for 36 mile then back to the original fault and light on after 36 miles!
