Side/Head lights issue - relay or wiring?

Post by EdRobson » Thu May 09, 2019 8:30 am

I flashed someone out of a junction yesterday and ended up losing my headlights. I still have sidelights, but when I switch up up to headlights the full beam indicator comes on on the dash, but there is no output from the lights. I've tried swithching the full beams on and off, both on and flash, but it makes no difference. I'm trying to work out where to start. My gut tells me it's probably a loose connection on the stalk, but I know sod all about it so my gut is probably very wrong! Any ideas before I start pulling my van apart?

Check the lamps themselves to start with, the Flash switch puts power direct to the High beam filament, whilst thru the normal switch power is fed via a relay to either High/dipped, its also common for the ground connection to overheat on the connectors if so replace them with ceramic H4 connectors available from Ebay.
