Don't know if this is a how long is a piece of string question, but how much would I expect to be quoted for a cambelt change?

Depends on engine type the V6 is much more difficult to access so its normal to replace more than just the belt itself usual to replace seals and possibly water pump at the same time.
The diesel and 2l petrol are much easier to access, prices vary across the country.

Can't remember what I've paid to have our diesel done, but it's always seemed fair.

I managed to change the belt on our diesel myself, so I can't imagine it would be more than a couple of hours labour for a garage.
