Can anyone shed any light..............

Post by Debs and David » Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:41 pm

For the past few days, everytime I come to start the bongo (2 litre petrol) for the 1st 15 - 20 seconds there is a clicking sound, like the indicator clicker, the park light is flashing in rhythm with the clicking, so is the handbrake light, if the door is open that flashes as well, the coolant alarm bleeps in rhythm , and the engine revs is also in rhythm. The coolant is at the right level. Suspect something electrical...........any ideas?

Many thanks

Sounds like something might be loading the battery rather heavily, do you have an Alarm/Immobiliser system fitted at all ?

Or perhaps a very dodgey battery?

Does it struggle to turn over? And could you maybe try a replacement battery?

No great science behind this, just a 'gut feel'. :?

Probably worthwhile removing and cleaning battery terminals and earth strap to body connection.

That's strange , the leisure batter should not affect the starting of the vehicle unless it is not wired independently with a relay from the SB or you had an earth problem. Might be worthwhile having ( if fitted) the split charge relay tested

Take care
