Passenger window switch intermitant.

Post by windywatson » Sun Mar 10, 2019 12:52 pm

Hi all,
I have a strange problem with the passenger side electric window switch. On occassions it doesn't work. However if I operate the window momentarily from the drivers side switch it restores control to the passenger switch for a few uses, then same will happen again. Any ideas please. I have had the drivers side switch apart & cleaned all of the contacts but that didn't make any differance.

Cheers

Two likely problems;
Drivers side switch or
Drivers side wiring loom.
Check the loom out first its the most frequent failure point, the loom passes over the lower door hinge and the wires inside the insulation break causing intermittent operation, before snapping altogether and causing it to fail altogether normally when is raining and in the down position!
Repair kits available from Karl BAES Chadwick, once you have proven the fault to be the loom - try slowly opening/closing the drivers door if its works intermittent that is the problem.
