14 inch wheels
I recently resprayed my Bongo as the A-Team van (and had rust cut out). It looks great, but I think I need to change the wheels to complete the look.
I've found some alloys that look the part - and I live in Malawi so my options are very limited - but they are 14 inch. I'm thinking that this might actually work out as lets me put even fatter tyres on, which with Malawian 'roads' could be useful, and add to the look.
Has anyone fitted 14s? Do the brakes fit? Is there anything else I should consider?
This site looks like it will help me choose tyres of the right diameter, if I can find them in Malawi: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1 ... 0mm&sr=0mm

Bear in mind the weight of the vehicle, its not a standard car weight! You need both alloys that can take the weight as well as tyres normally a weight rating on the tyres of 96= 710Kg I believe.

Good point. Will look out for that.

Re: 14 inch wheels
It was a lass on FB, on the motorway when the rim and tyre of the alloy sheared off the spokes it might have been previously damaged of course but no real follow up. I just keep the image available for when people start going on about alloys

Re: 14 inch wheels
There wasn't any confirmation on the details in the text other than 18";
"My 2.5 td bongo auto currently has 18"alloys which I want to replace due to this happening ! Which are the correct wheels please?"

Re: 14 inch wheels
Alloys should be stamped with their load - I think Bongo''s should be 680kg for the rear and a little less for the front. However, given all the potholes and the fracturing nature of alloys I'd go for at least 700kg. We have 750kg 17" wheels.
It's been said before but avoid wheels from RX8''s - they fit, they're made by Mazda but they're not strong enough.
Re: 14 inch wheels
For use on poor roads I'd certainly think about painting up steels to look as good as possible.
Re: 14 inch wheels
These might blend in , and keep your steel wheels painted to background colour.?
