Pop top problems

Post by Lindle » Thu Jan 03, 2019 3:26 pm

Hi,

Just tried to put my pop top up for the first time in a couple of months. It goes so far then just stops. I've tried it a few times with same problem. It's also taking a couple of tries to start, I just put this down to the cold but not I'm not so sure. 1995 Friendee with low mileage. Any ideas please? Many thanks

Sorry to hear that, a hassle indeed, might be worth getting the battery off first and fully charging it, take it from there.

Do you mean an AFT or an after market Pop-top ?

Thanks,

Hmm, I'm not sure, I think it's an AFT, does that mean it came like that?? Sorry, my tech knowledge is pretty poor! I'll try the battery then I can call a local bongo garage, they're not too far and hopefully will have some ideas

Agree with getting the battery tested first, are you running the engine while trying to raise the roof? This is recommended.

And yes, the AFT is the original factory fitted roof. I'm guessing you have this as it's electric, most (perhaps all) the after market ones are manual.

Good luck. 8)
