Hello,
As part of our plan to keep our Bongo for ever I'm looking at replacing the rear heater matrix.
I see the original matrix is a bit below the usual Mazda standard, particularly the plastic pipes. Thus I'm considering an aftermarket one - I see there are ones with metal pipes available.
Has anyone any suggestions as to a suitable and well made rear heater matrix?
Bongo is a yr 2000 diesel.
Thanks all
Tony

I had considered replacing mine, but as the other pipes were rusty and the whole thing is behind the side conversion / fridge etc, I just redirected the hoses and left it in but disconnected. The one I was looking at was a copper and brass version http://www.motoradsonline.co.uk/product ... atrix.html
2002 Friendee 2.0 ltr Petrol.

Thanks TheLongRoad. That was one I'd been looking at although it's not clear it fits the year 2000 Bongo but expect it does.
Ideally I'd like one with an air bleed screw on the top but I expect I'm asking too much.
Any other suggestions or comments on the copper and brass one as per TheLongRoad's link?

It would be worth PMing someone like Doone (= Allans Garage, Plymouth - top Bongo specialist) for their thoughts on fitting an alternative matrix. Or they run a facebook forum also.

We bought one from here many years ago. Was good quality and has metal pipes, our original one with plastic pipes had failed.

Excellent. That's what I was hoping for. 'good quality' and working for 'many years'.
Cheers.
