Here's a query from a member in Bracknell, Berks who has a cracked windscreen and needs to get it replaced. I suspect the sensors are for overhead toll booths on Japanese motorways but I'm not entirely sure.
"My van is a 2004 2 litre petrol and the top of the windscreen there are wires embedded in the screen. The wires run to small sensors on inside of the van. I have never managed to find out what these were originally for. Can you see any problems on the horizon when Autoglass replace the old one?"
In other words, will there be a problem with the vehicle electrics if the wiring is snipped? Any ideas?

Re: Sensors in Front Windscreen
No there stuck on the screen rather than embedded in the glass as such and should peel off if inspected carefully.

Do we have pics? Possibly a glass mounted aerial DAB etc?

Re: Sensors in Front Windscreen
I believe I too have the same on both the right and left sides of the screen. Looking on line at DAB aerials I think this is what it is as they look very similar.

Thank you for comments re. windscreen. A good job carried out by ~Auto Windscreens technician and he even commented that no rust visible (as with previous Bongos he has dealt with) so that made me happy !
