Full size spare wheel ?
Hi Guys,
Will a full size steel wheel fit in the rear/underside cradle ?
Prepping for our 3rd trip to southern Spain/Gib in the Bongo, going for 100 days this time, and the thought of maybe having to use the skinny wheel is not very reassuring.
If a full size one will fit anyone know where I can get one, there must be spare old steel wheels about.
Cheers
Martin

Hi Alan, thanks for the reply, as you advised I have posted in the for sale section.
There are now four of us looking for a full size spare wheel, so we are looking for a full set to split up between us. (alloy or steel)
Any members who have changed to alloy's and want to dispose, sell their old set of wheels, PM us please
Cheers

Spacesaver replaced!
Thanks to Ian who lives in Oswestry and has a caravan over here.
I now have a full size spare wheel.
I can confirm that a 215 wheel and tyre do fit in place of the spare, but only just!
The spacesaver looks like a toy compared to the regular ones.
I feel a bit more confident now!
My originals are alloys with 215/50R17 91V all round.
The spare is now a steel 215/65R15 96H.
What would be the implications of using this with three existing wheels?
I assume it would be advisable to get the other one fixed ASAP but driving on it would be better than on the dinky original.
That incidentally is marked T135/90D15 100M and should be inflated to 60psi.

The rolling circumferance of each would be:
215/50/17............2031mm
215/65/15............2074mm
135/90/15............1959mm
Not a problem with a 2WD but I'd use it for only a short get-me-home on a 4WD Pippin
If you're interested a 195/70/15 front has a R.C. of 2054mm
