Cutting the cab roof for better access to the AFT !

Post by Merlot man » Thu Jun 07, 2018 9:51 am

Hello all
I may have too much time on my hands but I've been looking at the cab roof on our 95 AFT bongo and was thinking that if the cab roof was cut away like on a T5/6 Cali it would make getting up and down to the roof much simpler at night for toilet breaks etc. as I wouldn't have to open the hatch and disturb the wife ( you REALLY don't want to disturbed the wife , she is disturbed enough as it is   )
Has this been done by anyone and if so how successful was it ?
Also how did they cover over the space by day ? I think the Cali uses a tambour door .
As always thanks in advance

A easy way of making access easier is to simply remove the hinge pins from the hinges and then you don’t have to swing the hatch up, just slide it whichever way suits you.
