V6 engine and box removal tips
Hey fellow Bongo owners.
If it doesn't go well today with the garage owner, I'll be taking out the old v6 lump and replacing it myself. I've done as few engine swaps before on cars etc over the years but never on a van etc.
Anyone give me any tips to help the process go as smooth as it can? I know some people say you don't need that many tools etc. Hopefully my work will let me use a ramp etc... but if not, I'll have to rip in on my drive. Not ideal, but I'll have to cope.
Thanks everyone.

There is a pdf in the factsheets in the members area. You'll need to drop it out under the van - which will be you main problem. Push the dealer because they are really responsible - you've only driven 100k. Good luck

I agree++. It wont be an easy job, and i can't think why the dealer should not take responsibility.
P.S. Don't tell him you've driven 100k, just 100km

Hi all
Did this today. Must be the easiest thing I've ever done thanks to the 2 post lift at work. The japs, as per, have done it again and used their brains. It makes life so so simple. I'll put pics up later and give a few tips.

On ramp it was easy.
prop off, coolant drain and pipes disconnected, charge harness off, gbox cable, wiring and cooler pipes off, 2 fuel pipes, ac and ps pipes, wiring harness plugs and then drop down. Very nice to remove.

Lovely looking lump. Surprised at how the gearbox looks dwarfed by the engine on the 2.5TD it looks like it came from a locomotive.
Dunno if you can still edit your last post, are those spelling errors?
Good luck with the rebuild.
